K’tak Minister Ramalinga Reddy Acts Swiftly After Public Flags BBMP Negligence

Bengaluru, Aug 09: Prolonged delays in BBMP’s drainage and footpath repair works have caused inconvenience and safety hazards in several parts of Bengaluru. In one such case in N.S. Palya, BTM Layout, Transport Minister and local MLA Ramalinga Reddy intervened within minutes after receiving a public complaint.

BBMP had begun sewer repair work on N.S. Palya 7th Main Road, Ward No. 181, but the project has reportedly been stalled for over four months. Large open ditches left on the footpath have resulted in pedestrians falling and getting injured. Despite repeated complaints, BBMP officials allegedly failed to act.

On Saturday, residents sent photographs of the site to Reddy via WhatsApp. Within 10 minutes, the minister instructed local ward president Nagaraj to address the problem. Nagaraj visited the spot, brought in a JCB, and carried out temporary repairs.

Reddy has also directed officials and party members to check on residents affected by stalled civic works and warned that negligence during development projects will not be tolerated.
