
Reliance Group has marked a significant achievement in job creation, hiring a staggering 2,62,558 employees across its various businesses during the financial year 2022-23. The annual report proudly states that Reliance Retail, in particular, emerged as one of the largest employers in the country, welcoming 1.8 lakh new employees, while Jio witnessed a significant addition of 70,500 staff members.
This surge in employment has propelled Reliance’s total workforce to an impressive 3.89 lakh by the end of FY23, considering voluntary separations.
Notably, this is the third consecutive year that Reliance has demonstrated robust job growth. In the previous fiscal year 2021-22, the company created a record-breaking 2.32 lakh jobs across its diverse businesses. Even during the challenging period of FY 2020-21, amidst the COVID-19 disruption, Reliance managed to add 75,000 new job opportunities.
Mukesh Ambani, in his address to shareholders during RIL’s 45th AGM on August 28, 2023, expressed pride in the company’s commitment to generating substantial employment opportunities for Indians. He emphasized Reliance’s role in addressing the urgent national task of creating large-scale jobs.
Aside from achieving extraordinary employment milestones, Reliance Industries concluded FY23 with remarkable financial results. The company reported a record high consolidated revenue of Rs 976,524 crore, representing a notable 23.2% increase, along with an EBITDA of Rs 154,691 crore, rising by 23.1% year-on-year. The O2C, Retail, and Digital Services businesses each recorded all-time high revenues, contributing to Reliance’s overall success.
