Afghan :Since the Taliban’s takeover, More than 200 former military officials killed

Kabul: Since the Taliban’s takeover, the United Nations (UN) reports that over 200 individuals who were formerly part of Afghanistan’s military, law enforcement, and government have been killed, despite assurances of a “general amnesty” for former adversaries. The UN mission in Afghanistan disclosed that there have been at least 218 instances of extrajudicial killings associated with the Taliban.

These incidents, as outlined by the UN assistance mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), typically involve the apprehension of individuals by de facto security forces, often followed by their subsequent execution.

In response to these allegations, senior leaders within the Taliban have previously stated that they are offering amnesty to former government officials and military personnel. The foreign affairs ministry under Taliban leadership, reacting to the UN’s report, asserted that they have not received information about any instances of non-compliance with this directive. They pledged to investigate any reported incidents that may have occurred.
