Doomdooma: In a devastating road accident that occurred on Tuesday night near Kakopathar in Assam’s Doomdooma district, seven individuals lost their lives, while twelve others sustained significant injuries.
According to a senior police official, the accident unfolded at Bordirak Tiniali when a vehicle, carrying passengers returning from a weekly market in Doomdooma, collided head-on with a truck on the highway. Distressingly, the truck driver was allegedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision.
Tragically, seven passengers succumbed to their injuries on the spot, while the twelve other victims were promptly transported to a hospital for medical attention. Regrettably, the attending doctors later confirmed the demise of seven individuals among the injured. Presently, the remaining injured are undergoing treatment at the hospital.
