Congress CEC Discusses Candidates for 70 out of 119 Telangana Assembly Seats

Hyderabad: The Congress Central Election Committee (CEC) for Telangana convened a meeting to discuss potential candidates for the upcoming Telangana Assembly elections. The meeting, chaired by AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and attended by party MPs Rahul Gandhi, Congress General Secretary for Organisation K.C. Venugopal, Telangana Congress Chief A. Revanth Reddy, Screening Committee Chairman K. Muralidharan, State Incharge Manikrao Thakre, and other senior leaders, focused on 70 out of the 119 assembly seats.

The discussion among the senior leaders extended for at least three hours as they worked towards finalizing candidates for the assembly elections.

Speaking to the media following the meeting, K. Muralidharan mentioned, “Today we have discussed 70 out of 119 seats, and more discussion is required to finalize all the seats.” He further indicated that the Congress party would soon announce the complete list of candidates in one go.

The Congress is actively preparing to contest the upcoming assembly elections in Telangana with the aim of securing victory and defeating the ruling party BRS. To kick off their campaign, the party plans to initiate a yatra in the state starting on October 18, with Rahul Gandhi scheduled to join it for three consecutive days from October 18 to October 20.

The polling for the 119-member Telangana Assembly is slated for November 30, with vote counting scheduled for December 3.
