Damascus: In a recent development, Israeli airstrikes targeted both the international airports of Damascus and Aleppo, with reports confirming the attacks at approximately 5:25 a.m. The Israeli military initiated these airstrikes from two directions, one from the Mediterranean Sea, west of Latakia, and another from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan. The strikes resulted in significant damage, rendering the runways at both airports unusable. Consequently, air traffic has been redirected to the city of Latakia. Tragically, one worker at Damascus airport lost their life, and another was injured during the attacks, as reported by the military source.
In parallel to these events, Israel’s Ministry of Defense and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have expanded a state-funded evacuation plan for communities residing in the northern regions near the border with Lebanon. This initiative has now been extended to 14 additional communities, namely Snir, Dan, Beit Hillel, She’ar Yashuv, Hagoshrim, Liman, Matzuva, Eylon, Goren, Gornot HaGalil, Even Menachem, Sasa, Tziv’on, and Ramot Naftali. Initially aimed at 28 communities within 2 kilometers of the Lebanese border, this evacuation plan has since encompassed nearby towns. As of the latest update, approximately 123,000 civilians have been evacuated from their homes in northern and southern Israel as a precautionary measure.
