India has sent vital humanitarian aid to the conflict-torn region of Palestine

New Delhi: In a display of solidarity and support, India has sent vital humanitarian aid to the conflict-torn region of Palestine. An Indian Air Force (IAF) C-17 flight has been dispatched, laden with approximately 6.5 tonnes of medical assistance and an additional 32 tonnes of disaster relief supplies destined for the people of Palestine. This humanitarian mission is bound for El-Arish airport in Egypt, as confirmed by Anurag Srivastava, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs.

The provided aid comprises a comprehensive range of essential resources, including life-saving medicines, surgical equipment, tents, sleeping bags, tarpaulins, sanitary facilities, and water purification tablets, among various other critically needed items. The intention is to provide immediate relief and support to the distressed population in Palestine, particularly in Gaza, which has endured the brunt of the ongoing conflict.

Over the past two weeks, the Palestine-Israel conflict has escalated, resulting in significant casualties and destruction. Thousands of lives have been tragically lost, with Gaza being the most heavily affected region. Just last week, more than 500 individuals lost their lives in a devastating incident when a hospital in Gaza was shelled.
