New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has issued a strong condemnation following the summons served to Delhi’s Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). AAP’s National General Secretary and Rajya Sabha member, Sandeep Pathak, did not mince words as he criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), asserting that their intentions were clear through their actions.
Pathak accused the BJP of attempting to ensnare Kejriwal, particularly in light of their unsuccessful efforts to defeat the AAP in elections across Delhi, Punjab, and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). As the AAP expanded its presence in Gujarat, the BJP apparently realized that legally restraining Kejriwal was a challenge. Consequently, Pathak alleged that the BJP resorted to arresting prominent AAP leaders on false charges, including figures like Satyendar Jain, Manish Sisodia, and Sanjay Singh.
With the AAP’s growing influence and support, Pathak claimed that the BJP’s primary goal shifted towards stopping and eliminating Arvind Kejriwal. He suggested that this became a covert political battle, which the BJP couldn’t openly engage in, leading them to manipulate agencies like the ED and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Pathak went further to claim that these investigative agencies take directives from the BJP’s headquarters, which, in his view, undermines the integrity of the country’s institutions.
