IED Blast Claims Lives of Five Soldiers in Pakistan’s Balochistan

Islamabad: In a devastating incident, five soldiers lost their lives in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast in Balochistan province, as reported by local media.

According to Dawn news, the explosion occurred on Saturday evening in the Buleda area when the security personnel’s vehicle was passing by, triggering the IED planted along the roadside. Makran Commissioner Saeed Ahmed Umrani provided this information.

The Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Army, revealed that the IED explosion led to an intense exchange of fire between the security forces and the terrorists.

Condemning the incident, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Ali Mardan Domki and Home Minister Mir Zubair Ahmed Jamali expressed strong disapproval.

In a separate development, four militants were neutralized in intelligence-based operations conducted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s North Waziristan and Dera Ismail Khan districts. The statement noted that a clearance operation was executed to eliminate terrorist presence in the area.
