BJP chief launches attack at Rahul, Akhilesh and Kejriwal; warns against ‘underestimating’ Hinduism

Lucknow, July 5 (IANS) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Nitin Nabin on Sunday launched a blistering attack at the ‘tallest’ Opposition leaders including Leader of Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi, Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav, and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Arvind Kejriwal, objecting to their distasteful comments over the donation theft controversy at the Ram Temple.

The BJP chief cautioned them against underestimating and undermining the Hindu religion, stating that the followers of Sanatan Dharma won’t accept this insult.

“Today, I want to tell Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav, and Kejriwal that do not consider the Hindu religion so weak that people will be swayed away by for your empty rhetoric. Because when your people insult Hindu deities, you all remain silent. The people of UP and the country will never tolerate the insult to Sanatan and will respond to this insult in a democratic manner,” Nabin said.

He remarked that the BJP has not only engaged in the politics of development but has also worked to preserve and revitalise the nation’s cultural heritage. Citing the construction of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya, the revamp of Kashi Vishwanath Dham, and the preservation of religious and cultural sites across the country, he described these as proof of the BJP’s cultural commitment.

“People who shed crocodile tears in the name of faith today can never truly speak of faith,” he said, mocking the Opposition leaders.

“What can those people say who ordered bullets to be fired at Ram devotees… such people are never worthy of speaking about faith,” he added.

The BJP chief highlighted the contributions and sacrifices made by ancestors to protect and cherish the nation’s cultural heritage and called it the party’s commitment to take it forward.

He said that prior to 2017, Uttar Pradesh had become synonymous with corruption, appeasement, dynastic politics, and ‘mafia-raj ‘, but the double-engine government has transformed both the state’s image and its destiny.

Lauding the progress made in the past decade, he said that today Uttar Pradesh ranks among the leading states in terms of law and order, development, and good governance.

Speaking at the Shakti Kendra Sammelan, the BJP president also urged party workers to work towards strengthening the organisation.

He emphasised that the BJP’s robust structure at the ‘Shakti Kendra’ and booth levels constitutes the party’s greatest strength and voiced confidence that the party will again form the government with a massive majority in 2027.
