Sri Lanka Frees 18 Indian Fishermen from Ramanathapuram

Chennai: Eighteen fishermen hailing from Ramanathapuram, who were apprehended by the Sri Lankan Navy for reportedly entering their territorial waters, have been released from Sri Lankan detention. This morning, they arrived in Chennai after their release from prison on the 31st of last month, where they were transferred to the Indian High Commission following certain formalities, including COVID tests, before their return to India.

Upon their arrival in Chennai, the State Government facilitated arrangements for them to reunite with their families in their respective native places.
