Bharatiya Kisan Union Calls for Tractor March on February 21

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Kisan Union has declared plans for a tractor march across all district headquarters of Uttar Pradesh on February 21, signaling continued agitation in support of farmers’ demands, including securing a minimum support price.

During a Mahapanchayat held at its headquarters in Sisauli, Muzaffarnagar, BKU leader Rakesh Tikait rallied farmers, urging them to display solidarity during the upcoming tractor march on February 21. Tikait vehemently criticized the ruling BJP government, characterizing the struggle as one aimed at safeguarding both generations and crops.

Emphasizing peaceful protest, Tikait outlined plans for farmers to park their tractors along highways leading to Delhi on February 26 and 27, demonstrating their unwavering support for the ongoing farmer protests.

Expressing concerns over potential attempts to undermine their unity, Tikait cautioned farmers to remain vigilant and thwart any such endeavors. He disclosed attempts to engage in dialogue individually but advocated for engagement with the collective entity, Sanyukt Kisan Morcha.

In a poignant call to action, Tikait urged farmers to be prepared to invest a year’s earnings into the movement, underscoring the critical nature of the struggle for farmers’ survival.

The tractor march and subsequent demonstrations underscore the enduring resolve of the farming community in pressing for their demands amid ongoing negotiations with the government.
