Chennai: The AIADMK is gearing up to release its manifesto for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections after engaging with diverse segments of voters across Tamil Nadu. A dedicated team of AIADMK leaders, led by Deputy Leader in the Legislative Assembly R.B. Udhayakumar and former Minister Natham R. Viswanathan, embarked on a comprehensive tour of the state from February 5 to 10, engaging with citizens from all walks of life.
Drawing insights from this extensive outreach effort, the manifesto committee is in the final stages of crafting its agenda, taking into account the feedback and concerns voiced by the public.
Udhayakumar emphasized the profound disillusionment among Tamil Nadu residents with the performance of the DMK government. He highlighted the failure of the DMK to fulfill its electoral promises, citing instances where commitments made prior to both the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and the 2021 Assembly elections were left unfulfilled, resulting in a sense of betrayal among the electorate.
Furthermore, Udhayakumar criticized the DMK administration’s handling of crucial sectors such as MSMEs, asserting that their neglect of this vital segment hindered the state’s economic progress. He stressed the potential of the MSME sector to drive Tamil Nadu’s development if appropriately supported and nurtured.
During their interactions, AIADMK leaders engaged with various demographics, including farmers, youth, students, women, entrepreneurs, and industrialists. Udhayakumar also took aim at the ineffectiveness of DMK MPs in Parliament, particularly on issues crucial to Tamil Nadu’s interests such as the Cauvery water dispute, where he alleged a lack of meaningful representation for the state.
