Tragic Fatality During House Demolition in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A devastating incident unfolded during the demolition of a house in Hyderabad, resulting in the loss of a tenant’s life on Thursday. The unfortunate event took place in Moosapet, within the jurisdiction of the Kukatpally police station. Authorities swiftly initiated an investigation into the matter following the registration of a case.

The demolition endeavor was undertaken by former corporator T. Sravan Kumar, aimed at dismantling his old residence in Moosapet. Notably, the occupants renting the property were evacuated a day prior to the demolition.

Tragically, as workers commenced the demolition process in the morning, they were unaware of the presence of anyone inside the structure. After a brief pause for lunch, work resumed and the demolition was completed, only to reveal the grievous discovery of a man trapped beneath the debris. Identified as Swamy Reddy, he had been residing in the rented house.

Reports indicate that Reddy, under the influence of alcohol, had sought refuge in the house on Wednesday night. Regrettably, the workers, oblivious to his presence, continued with the demolition the following day. This unforeseen tragedy serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of thorough safety protocols and communication in such operations.
