Bengaluru: Deepak Shetty has been elected president of Bunts Sangha Bangalore, Vijayanagar, for the 2026–29 term. Madhukar Shetty has been elected vice-president, while Sowmya Shree Hegde has been elected vice-president under the women’s reserved category.
According to the election results, Amarnath Shetty has been elected secretary, Suresha Shetty joint secretary and Ramith B Shetty treasurer.
Executive committee
The newly elected executive committee members are Anita Chandrashekhar Shetty, Shakuntala Shetty, Malathi Shetty, Arun Kumar Shetty, Kishore Shetty, Prashanth Shetty, Kirthan Shetty, Surendra Shetty, Prasad Kumar Shetty, D B Pratap Shetty, Ramadas Shetty, Heera Anoop Hegde, Umesh and Nityaranjan Shetty.
Focus on education, jobs and healthcare
After being elected, Deepak Shetty said he was aware of the expectations of members and pledged to work towards the development of the community and society.
He said the association has drawn up a five-point development plan, with emphasis on strengthening educational institutions and initiatives in employment and healthcare.
Shetty said he had already interacted with thousands of community members to seek their views and suggestions. Future programmes and initiatives of the association would be planned based on members’ feedback, he said.
On behalf of Bunts Sangha Bangalore, Shetty also congratulated Karnataka Chief Minister D K Shivakumar on the state government’s decision to grant Tulu the status of a second official language.
