Amaravati: In a significant move ahead of the upcoming elections in Andhra Pradesh, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Jana Sena Party (JSP) alliance unveiled the Backward Classes (BC) declaration, promising a range of benefits, including a monthly pension of Rs 4,000 for individuals aged 50 and above.
The announcement, made at a public gathering in Mangalagiri, reflects the TDP-JSP’s commitment to addressing the socio-economic challenges faced by the backward class population, according to party leaders.
TDP’s national President, N. Chandrababu Naidu, and JSP leader Pawan Kalyan jointly released the declaration, which outlines a comprehensive set of initiatives aimed at promoting the welfare and advancement of the BC community.
The declaration pledges an allocation of Rs 1.5 lakh crore over five years for the BC sub-plan, special legislation for their safety and security, the establishment of a Social Justice Monitoring Committee, revival of educational schemes including fee reimbursement for postgraduate students, and facilitation of foreign education without conditions.
Additionally, the TDP-JSP alliance promised to reinstate 34 percent reservation for the backward class, restore incentives for economic progress, provide employment opportunities, conduct a caste census as per law, revive the payment of Rs 10 lakh under Chandranna Bheema, and increase Pelli Kanuka to Rs 1 lakh.
Other commitments include issuing permanent caste certificates, revitalizing all schemes to promote education among backward classes, and completing construction of BC Bhavan and community halls within one year of forming the government.
Chandrababu Naidu emphasized that the 10-point BC declaration is solely aimed at achieving the progress of backward communities, and it was formulated after detailed discussions with senior leaders from both the TDP and the Jana Sena.
