Panaji: The zonal unit of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has successfully dismantled a drug trafficking racket in Goa, culminating in the seizure of 532 grams of Methamphetamine and the subsequent arrest of two individuals on Friday.
Amit Ghawate, Additional Director of NCB-Goa, revealed that the operation was initiated following intelligence inputs about an interstate drugs syndicate operating within the state. Recognizing the heightened risk posed by Goa’s status as a tourist destination, local authorities were vigilant in detecting and preventing illicit drug activities.
Ghawate elaborated, stating that the focus turned towards J. Singh, a Rajasthan-based individual with suspected ties to drug-related activities in Goa. Following thorough surveillance and verification of intelligence reports confirming the possession of a significant quantity of drugs, the NCB-Goa team swiftly intervened.
“As a result of our intervention, we were able to intercept J. Singh, leading to the seizure of 532 grams of Methamphetamine,” Ghawate announced, underscoring the effectiveness of collaborative efforts in combating drug trafficking and safeguarding public safety.
