Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah exuded confidence on Thursday, asserting that the Congress party is poised to secure a significant electoral victory in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Speaking to reporters, he expressed optimism about winning up to 20 seats in Karnataka, citing positive feedback from voters across the state.
Addressing remarks made by BJP State President B.Y. Vijayendra regarding the continuation of Congress guarantees post-elections, Siddaramaiah dismissed them, questioning Vijayendra’s clairvoyance. He reaffirmed the Congress’s commitment to governance and pledged to uphold the guarantees introduced by his administration.
Highlighting the party’s focus on social welfare, Siddaramaiah announced plans to allocate Rs 52,000 crore for implementing guarantee schemes in the next fiscal year, underscoring the government’s commitment to inclusive development.
Later, at a mega roadshow in Chikkaballapur city, Siddaramaiah rallied support for Congress candidate Raksha Ramaiah, expressing optimism about the party’s prospects in the elections. With Karnataka set to vote in two phases on April 26 and May 7, Siddaramaiah’s assertion reflects the Congress’s determination to secure a significant victory in the state’s 28 Lok Sabha constituencies.
