New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Central Election Committee (CEC) has made progress in finalizing candidates for the upcoming assembly elections. In Madhya Pradesh, the CEC has concluded the names of 92 candidates, and another list for this state is expected to be released on the weekend.
For the remaining 94 assembly seats in Madhya Pradesh, discussions have taken place, with 92 names already confirmed. The party is currently gathering more information on the remaining two seats, and if all goes well, these candidates will be announced in the fifth list for Madhya Pradesh. So far, the BJP has released four lists, including 136 names, for the 230-member Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, scheduled for November 17.
As for the Rajasthan Assembly elections, discussions regarding over 84 seats were held during the CEC meeting, with names finalized for approximately 79 of these seats. The BJP has released only one list of candidates for Rajasthan, with 41 candidates announced in the first list on October 9. Rajasthan will go to the polls on November 25 to elect 200 members to the state Assembly.
The BJP’s CEC meeting to determine candidates for the Telangana Assembly elections is still ongoing. Telangana’s elections are set to take place on November 30.
