Mysuru: B.Y.Vijayendra, the BJP state President, asserted on Thursday that the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government in Karnataka is facing a severe financial crunch, leading to an inability to pay salaries to government employees.
Addressing the media in Mysuru, Vijayendra highlighted the absence of development activities in the state and criticized the alleged diversion of funds from temples. He emphasized the unfortunate situation where legislators refuse to attend sessions due to the financial crisis, placing blame squarely on Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
Expressing dismay over Karnataka’s affluent status contrasted with its current financial woes, Vijayendra questioned the efficacy of the Congress government and criticized its performance, especially in addressing poverty alleviation and drought relief. He accused the government of engaging in political maneuvers rather than prioritizing the welfare of the populace.
Vijayendra asserted that the BJP’s electoral prospects have surged across all 28 Lok Sabha constituencies, indicating a favorable atmosphere for BJP and JD(S) candidates.
Furthermore, he criticized the absence of drought-related provisions in the budget and highlighted the alarming drinking water crisis affecting Bengaluru and the entire state. According to Vijayendra, the government’s negligence towards these critical issues underscores its incompetence and lack of foresight.
