BJP Leader Ashoka Accuses Karnataka Govt of Bias in Handling Minority Cases

Bengaluru: Leader of Opposition in the Karnataka Assembly, R. Ashoka, made damning allegations on Monday, claiming that the Congress-led government in the state has issued directives to the police to suppress cases involving minorities while swiftly acting on those involving the majority community.

Ashoka asserted, “There is a clear directive from the government to suppress cases against minorities and to expedite action when cases are filed against the majority community.”

Expressing disappointment as a citizen of Karnataka, Ashoka questioned the consequences if allegations of appeasement in recent controversial incidents, such as the Pakistan Zindabad slogan row and the Rameshwaram Café blast case in Bengaluru, were proven true. He raised the possibility of the government’s dissolution in such circumstances.

Furthermore, Ashoka warned against downplaying the seriousness of incidents like the café blast, emphasizing that such statements could perpetuate terrorist activities in the state.

Accusing Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara of succumbing to vested interests, Ashoka criticized the handling of the situation, suggesting that authorities may be withholding crucial reports to manage the narrative.

In a scathing remark, Ashoka sarcastically suggested that the Nobel Prize should be awarded to the Congress government for its alleged bias in handling cases. He urged for transparency and accountability within the administration to address the growing concerns over impartiality in law enforcement.
