
New Delhi: CM Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar convened a crucial meeting with Karnataka’s Members of Parliament in Delhi to address the ongoing Cauvery river water dispute. The discussion was led by Sivakumar, with the intent of formulating strategies to navigate the challenges posed by the authority’s order to release water to Tamil Nadu. The Karnataka government is facing a critical situation and seeks to exert pressure on the central government to resolve this matter.
Prior to the meeting with the MPs, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar held discussions with Union Minister Prahlad Joshi to highlight Karnataka’s concerns regarding the Cauvery water issue. The meeting included key figures such as Karnataka’s representative in Delhi, TB Jayachandra, MP DK Suresh, Rajya Sabha member GC Chandrasekhar, and Water Resources and Urban Development Department’s Additional Chief Secretary, Rakesh Singh. Also present were Incongla Jameer, the Resident Commissioner of Karnataka Bhavan in Delhi.
