In a post on X, Chidambaram criticized the government, stating, “It is undeniable that hundreds of Opposition leaders received an alert from Apple of a state-sponsored attempt to compromise their phones.”
Chidambaram questioned the selective targeting, asking, “Why only Opposition leaders? Who would be interested in compromising the phones of Opposition leaders?” He also pointed to the lingering uncertainty surrounding the unresolved Pegasus controversy, hinting at the possibility of a government agency’s involvement. He emphasized that, at the moment, it remains a suspicion.
