New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has once again failed to appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday, citing the alleged unconstitutionality of the summons. This marks the sixth instance of Kejriwal’s absence from the summons related to the purported excise policy scam.
Sources indicate that Kejriwal continues to contest the validity of appearing before the ED, particularly as the matter is currently under judicial review. AAP sources suggest that the ED, instead of persistently issuing summons, should await the court’s decision, allowing due legal process to take its course.
Previously, on January 31, the ED had issued summons to Kejriwal, setting a date for February 2, which marked the fifth summons issued to the AAP Convenor.
The financial probe agency has lodged a complaint alleging that Kejriwal has deliberately evaded the summons, consistently providing what they deem to be “lame excuses.”
