New Delhi: Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has officially confirmed his upcoming visit to India, expressing his anticipation to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his stay.
In a post on X on Wednesday, Musk stated, “Looking forward to meeting with Prime Minister @NarendraModi in India.”
Media reports indicate that the tech mogul is scheduled to meet PM Modi during the week of April 22 in New Delhi.
Accompanied by senior Tesla executives, Musk is expected to unveil investment plans and discuss the potential establishment of a $2-3 billion manufacturing facility in India.
According to Musk, Tesla’s entry into the Indian market represents a natural progression as the company explores opportunities for electric vehicle (EV) production.
Musk affirmed, “All vehicles will go electric, and it is just a matter of time.”
Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu are reportedly top contenders for Tesla’s EV manufacturing operations, with plans to export vehicles from India as well.
During his visit to the United States last year, PM Modi extended an invitation to Musk to explore investment opportunities in India’s e-mobility sector.
