Bengaluru: Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda announced on Friday that he, along with his family, will be attending the ‘Prana Pratishtha’ event of the Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22. Speaking to reporters, Deve Gowda shared his travel plans, stating, “I am leaving for Ayodhya with my wife, son, former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy, his wife Anita Kumaraswamy, and grandson Nikhil Kumaraswamy. A special flight has been arranged on January 22, and we will travel from Bengaluru to Ayodhya.”
Regarding seat allocation for the JD(S) in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Deve Gowda mentioned uncertainty about whether the party would be given three or four seats to contest.
While criticizing the Congress party, Deve Gowda pointed out the political maneuvering that led to his resignation as Prime Minister after 13 months and the downfall of the Kumaraswamy-led coalition government. He emphasized his 60 years of dedicated political service and called for a debate on the communities benefiting most from reservation policies.
Accusing the Karnataka Government of deflecting responsibility to the Centre on internal reservation matters, Deve Gowda expressed his intention to raise developmental issues in the upcoming elections.
