Hennur–Bagalur Main Road Works to Be Fast-Tracked: Krishna Byre Gowda

Bengaluru: Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda has directed officials to expedite ongoing road and infrastructure development works along Hennur–Bagalur Main Road, from the junction to Geddalahalli, to ease traffic congestion and improve road safety.

During an inspection on October 26, the minister emphasised the need for an integrated approach to infrastructure development, ensuring that road projects address drainage, pedestrian safety and traffic movement alongside road construction.

He instructed officials to establish efficient drainage systems to prevent waterlogging, widen footpaths for safer pedestrian movement and provide alternative routes with proper traffic management during construction. He also called for the scientific redesign of junctions to improve traffic flow and directed officials to speed up land acquisition and handover to prevent project delays.

Krishna Byre Gowda further stressed that white-topping and road-widening works should be coordinated with drainage and other essential infrastructure projects.

He said road development should go beyond merely laying roads and focus on safer streets, smoother mobility and minimum inconvenience to commuters.

KR Puram MLA Byarathi Basavaraj, Greater Bengaluru Authority Chief Commissioner M. Maheshwar Rao, Bengaluru East City Corporation Commissioner D.S. Ramesh, Additional Commissioner Lokhande Snehal Sudhakar and officials from the concerned departments participated in the inspection.
