Most of the household have mexican mint leaves. This is a medicinal plant too. The mexican mint leaves have a lot of health benefits. Leaves are very easily available in our home or markets.

The mexican mint plant and oregano plant are a species. It originated from the mint family Lamiaceae. The taste, odor and flavour are similar. That’s why we can prepare oregano flakes from mexican mint leaves. It is to defend against cold and cough, relieve stress, optimize digestion and so on. From the Mexican mint leaves we can find a lot of recipes for daily life.

In my home, I grow mexican plants for the emergency purpose of cod and cough. The plants are grown very well. I don’t want to waste my healthy grown leaves. I tried this oregano powder and was successful in this. So I want to share how to prepare oregano powder from it. Trust me it is similar to oregano flavour in your baking or any kind of recipes.

I plucked some mexican mint leaves from my garden. Thoroughly clean and wash the leaves. Spreaded in a large towel or plate and kept for about two to three days. At that time it absorbs almost all of the water from the leaves. It dried naturally. If it’s not there, you can fry it. Once water contents go, blend to a powder texture. If needed you can sieve, otherwise directly we can use it.

The homemade oregano powder can be used for italian, chinese or other kinds of recipes. It tastes the same as store bought. The homemade oregano is very healthy. You can also use an oven to dry the leaves or roast the leaves in kadai to make oregano powder. Any Kind of procedure you can follow.

The best seasoning is oregano powder for pasta or pizza etc. Try in your home and share with me. I am overwhelmed by reading and reaching my blogs to you. Stay in touch and I will catch up on the next interesting recipes.
