‘INDIA’ Bloc Predicted to Secure Both Lok Sabha Seats in Goa

Panaji: Expressing strong confidence in the ‘INDIA’ bloc’s victory, Manikrao Thakare, Congress in-charge for Goa, declared on Wednesday that both Lok Sabha seats in Goa would be claimed by the coalition in the upcoming general elections. Thakare criticized the BJP, accusing them of employing ‘B’ teams to splinter votes across the nation.

Thakare’s assertions came during a media address following a meeting of opposition parties aligned with the ‘INDIA’ bloc. Present at the gathering were prominent figures including Goa Congress President Amit Patkar, opposition leader Yuri Alemao, state AAP chief Amit Palekar, Goa Forward Party General Secretary Durgadas Kamat, Goa NCP (Sharad Pawar) President Jose Philip, and state Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Jitesh Kamat.

Stressing the importance of safeguarding democracy, Thakare emphasized the unity of the ‘INDIA’ bloc partners in their efforts to preserve the country’s democratic values. He noted that the BJP’s apparent struggle to field a candidate for South Goa reflects the strong support for the ‘INDIA’ bloc among the public.

Thakare asserted, “The people of Goa will elect the Congress nominees in both the Lok Sabha seats in the state,” while also alleging that the Revolutionary Goans Party functions as the BJP’s ‘B’ team, aimed at dividing votes in various states.
