Tulkarm: Amidst escalating violence, 14 Palestinians lost their lives in clashes with Israeli forces in several cities across the West Bank, Palestinian security sources revealed to Xinhua news agency on Friday. The clashes erupted on the seventh day of the intensifying conflict between the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and Israel.
The Ministry disclosed that at least five of the Palestinian casualties occurred in the city of Tulkarm.
According to Israeli media reports, police officers fatally shot at least four Palestinians who attempted to breach the West Bank security barrier near Tulkarm by setting off explosive devices.
In a show of solidarity with their compatriots in the Gaza Strip and to condemn the ongoing Israeli military operations in Gaza, a significant number of people took to the streets in West Bank cities.
Since October 7, when Gaza-based Hamas militants launched a surprise attack against Israeli targets, 44 Palestinians have lost their lives due to Israeli troops and settlers in the West Bank, as reported by the Ministry.
The overall death toll from Israeli strikes in both the Gaza Strip and the West Bank has now reached 1,843, with an additional 6,638 individuals sustaining injuries, according to the Ministry’s figures. Israeli media, citing official sources, noted that Israeli casualties since October 7 numbered at 1,300, with nearly 3,400 injured.
