Gaza: Israel has intensified its ground operations in Gaza, with troops and tanks remaining on the ground following a major incursion aimed at combatting Hamas.
In a recent overnight attack, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) reported the successful elimination of two key Hamas figures, Naval commander Abu Sahiban and aerial commander Abu Rakbeh. Sahiban had been orchestrating a Hamas infiltration by sea, which was thwarted by the military.
The IDF’s focus on its targets remains steadfast with the removal of these high-ranking Hamas officials. IDF spokesperson Halagary indicated that the army has advanced further into the Gaza Strip and may escalate its operations.
Over the past weekend, the IDF claimed to have destroyed 140 underground structures belonging to Hamas.
Communication networks within Gaza have suffered an outage, leaving the region with a lack of information flow.
In response to the crisis, efforts are underway to deliver food and aid to people in the southern areas of Gaza. Earlier, the UN General Assembly passed a resolution with overwhelming support, calling for a humanitarian truce in Gaza.
Amid the Israeli strikes, Palestinian Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Ishaq Sidr, confirmed a near-complete interruption of internet and telecommunications in Gaza, primarily due to attacks on two communications towers.
