New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing a massive gathering of the Indian diaspora at Abu Dhabi’s Zayed Sports City Stadium on Tuesday, commended their significant contributions in elevating India’s stature as a robust economy and fostering amicable relations between India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Expressing gratitude to the UAE government for its hospitality towards the Indian community, PM Modi acknowledged the pivotal role played by the diaspora in bolstering bilateral ties. Notably, with approximately 3.5 million Indians residing in the UAE, they constitute around 35 per cent of the Gulf nation’s population.
PM Modi extended his appreciation to UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for facilitating the construction of the BAPS Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi, emphasizing the depth of bilateral cooperation between the two nations.
Highlighting the strengthening bonds between India and the UAE, PM Modi underscored his frequent visits to the nation, emphasizing the reciprocal visits of UAE President to India, most recently to Gujarat.
Addressing the achievements of his government, PM Modi outlined significant milestones on the development front, including the provision of concrete housing to 4 crore people, banking access to 50 crore individuals, access to clean drinking water for 10 crore people, and free medical treatment for 5 crore beneficiaries under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana.
PM Modi also touched upon the vision for India’s future under the BJP-led NDA rule, expressing confidence in the nation’s trajectory towards becoming the third-largest economy in the world. He assured the audience of his government’s commitment to delivering on its promises and propelling India towards unprecedented growth and prosperity.
Furthermore, PM Modi highlighted the signing of transformative agreements between India and the UAE, announcing the imminent launch of the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) in the UAE, underscoring the deepening economic cooperation between the two nations.
