Bengaluru: Union Minister Pralhad Joshi has demanded an apology from Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in light of the alleged incident involving the chanting of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans at the Vidhana Soudha following the declaration of Rajya Sabha election results.
Expressing his concerns, Joshi emphasized the need for accountability, stating, “Tuesday’s events during the celebrations of Naseer Hussain’s victory, where ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans were reportedly raised inside the premises of the Vidhana Soudha, are highly condemnable.”
Joshi reiterated his stance on the purported incident, highlighting his belief that whenever the Congress assumes power or secures electoral victories, elements with anti-national inclinations and pro-Pakistani sentiments tend to gain confidence. He strongly condemned the reported incident and urged law enforcement authorities, the Chief Minister, and the Home Minister to take decisive action against those responsible.
Referring to Naseer Hussain’s denial of the allegations, Joshi emphasized the need for a thorough investigation, asserting that those found guilty must face legal consequences.
Addressing the gravity of the situation, Joshi underscored, “This is not a minor incident. Encouraging anti-national sentiments is highly condemnable.” He pressed for Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to issue an apology in response to the controversy.
Meanwhile, Naseer Hussain maintained his stance, refuting the allegations and suggesting the possibility of a conspiracy behind the incident. He called for an investigation, citing advancements in technology as a means to ascertain the truth.
