CAA Implementation Prior to Lok Sabha Elections: Amit Shah
New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has asserted that the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) will be enforced ahead of the Lok Sabha elections scheduled for April-May this year. Shah declared that the law, passed in 2019, will be implemented post the issuance of requisite regulations.
Addressing concerns surrounding the CAA, Shah emphasized that the legislation is solely aimed at granting citizenship to individuals who faced persecution in Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh, dismissing claims of it jeopardizing the citizenship of any Indian national.
"Our Muslim brothers are being misinformed and incited against the CAA," Shah stated, clarifying its humanitarian purpose.
