Telangana Assembly session from Aug 3

Hyderabad: The upcoming Legislature session in Telangana is likely to be the final one before the state’s Assembly elections, which are scheduled to take place towards the end of the year. During this session, the government aims to introduce amendments to some of the existing legislations.

In addition, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has scheduled a state Cabinet meeting on July 31 at the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar State Secretariat.

The state cabinet is expected to deliberate on a wide range of issues, totaling around 40 to 50 topics. A key focus will be on reviewing the flood situation and the measures implemented by the state government in response to the recent torrential rain.

Another critical aspect of the meeting will involve assessing the current conditions in the agriculture sector, considering the impact of heavy rains on farmers. The cabinet members will explore alternative agricultural policies aimed at safeguarding the interests of the farming community.

The damage caused to roads due to overflowing canals and rivulets, and its consequences on road transportation, will also be evaluated. Urgent decisions will be taken to restore the damaged road network on a war footing.

Additionally, the cabinet will address various issues related to the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC). Among the matters up for discussion is the enhancement of salaries for TSRTC employees, along with other pertinent issues. The cabinet will carefully consider these matters and make appropriate decisions.

As the legislative session and the cabinet meeting approach, they hold significant importance, as they address crucial issues affecting the state’s progress and the well-being of its citizens ahead of the impending Assembly elections.
