Lucknow: In a significant crackdown, the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) has apprehended three individuals involved in drug peddling activities in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow. The arrests, made on Thursday evening, mark a decisive step in curbing the illicit drug trade in the area.
The suspects have been identified as Ahsan Afzal Khan, Deepak Kumar Gupta, and Karan Mehta, all residents of Lucknow, as confirmed by an official statement. The STF operation resulted in the confiscation of 66 grams of MDMA and 500 grams of Charas, with an estimated value of Rs 40 lakh.
Sources within the STF revealed that the seized narcotics were intended for distribution among students residing in rented accommodations in Indira Nagar and Chinhat areas, as well as to establishments such as pubs, bars, and hotels in the vicinity. Ahsan Afzal Khan is believed to be the mastermind behind this illicit drug operation, according to officials.
