Bamako: In a devastating incident, thirty-one individuals lost their lives, and 10 sustained injuries when a bus plunged off a bridge in Mali.
The accident, which occurred around 5:00 p.m. local time (1700 GMT) on Tuesday, transpired on the bridge over the Bagoe river, as reported by the Transport ministry.
According to the ministry’s statement, the bus was traveling from the southwestern Malian town of Kenieba to Burlina Faso when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, leading to the fatal plunge.
This tragic event underscores the ongoing challenges faced on Mali’s roads, attributed primarily to poor road conditions and vehicle maintenance.
