Chandigarh, Sep 16 (IANS) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that the entire state, on Thursday, will honour Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years of public service and his journey in public life dedicated to the nation.
He said the Prime Minister’s journey of public service exemplifies how true leadership is defined not by position, but by service and dedication. The Chief Minister said, “It is with this objective that the nationwide ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ is being organised”.
The campaign will mark PM Modi’s dedicated service to the nation.
Highlighting PM Modi’s special connection with Haryana, the Chief Minister said he has visited Haryana 18 times as Prime Minister. During these visits, the state has received development projects of over Rs 86,000 crore. On this special occasion, people across Haryana will express their appreciation for the Prime Minister’s journey of service by participating in the ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ programme.
The Chief Minister urged the people to light an ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ at their homes between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Thursday. He said that the diya will symbolise the people’s good wishes for PM Modi’s good health and long life, as well as their acknowledgement of his 25 years of public service.
“Let us light a diya for the Prime Minister and take a pledge for the nation,” CM Saini said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister chaired a key meeting here to review the preparations for the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. He said under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, Seva Camps would also be organised at the block level and in Municipal Corporations, Municipal Councils and Municipal Committees. At these camps, grievances related to beneficiary details under various departmental schemes should be resolved, and new eligible beneficiaries should be enrolled on the spot.
The Chief Minister made it clear that services should be provided at the camps themselves so that no citizen has to make rounds of government offices after visiting a camp.
