New Delhi: Rumors are circulating within political circles suggesting that senior Congress stalwarts Kamal Nath and Rajya Sabha MP Vivek Tankha are contemplating a switch to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Sources indicate that a previously derailed deal between Kamal Nath and the BJP has been resurrected, gaining traction with the support of key state BJP leaders, including Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
The purported agreement was reportedly discussed during Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s recent visit to New Delhi, where meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP President Nadda took place.
According to sources, Kamal Nath is purportedly in line to secure a Rajya Sabha seat, while his son, the sole Congress MP from Madhya Pradesh, is speculated to receive a Lok Sabha seat from Chhindwara, along with a ministerial portfolio.
However, recent encounters between Kamal Nath and Congress leaders from Madhya Pradesh suggest a different narrative. During these meetings, Kamal Nath purportedly urged party workers to intensify their efforts in preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
