Action Against IT Firms Denying Jobs to Kannadigas: CM D.K. Shivakumar

Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has said the state government is taking complaints seriously regarding the alleged denial of employment opportunities to Kannadigas in Bengaluru’s information technology (IT) companies.

Expressing concern over allegations that candidates whose mother tongue is Kannada are being sidelined during recruitment, Shivakumar said the government would not allow the rights, dignity and employment opportunities of Kannadigas to be disregarded in their own state.

Highlighting Bengaluru’s global reputation as India’s technology capital, the Chief Minister said the government takes pride in the talent, skills and capabilities of Kannadigas. He stressed that local youth must receive appropriate opportunities to participate in the state’s growing technology sector.

Shivakumar warned that appropriate action would be taken if any private organisation was found to be deliberately depriving Kannadigas of employment opportunities.

The Chief Minister reiterated that the government remains committed to safeguarding the interests of Kannadigas and addressing concerns related to employment discrimination.
