Bengaluru: Public sector watchmaker HMT Limited has unveiled four premium timepieces under its ‘HMT Kannadiga’ series to mark the 71st Kannada Rajyotsava.
Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy launched the watches and said the special collection was dedicated to Karnataka and its cultural identity.
He expressed confidence that HMT would regain its former glory under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and the Centre’s ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative. He described the new watches as symbols of Karnataka’s heritage, culture and craftsmanship.
BJP leaders R Ashoka and Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, former minister S R Mahesh, MP C N Manjunath and MLAs Munirathna, M T Krishnappa and T A Saravana attended the event.
Music director Arjun Janya and his team presented a musical programme featuring Kannada songs.
