Karnataka, China Explore Cooperation in Biofuel and Green Technology; KSBDB chairman Sudheendra meets Chinese Ambassador

Bengaluru: Karnataka is exploring opportunities for cooperation with China in biofuel production, renewable energy and green technology, following a meeting between Karnataka State Biofuel Development Board (KSBDB) chairman S.E. Sudheendra and Chinese Ambassador to India Xu Feihang at Kempegowda International Airport on Thursday.

During the meeting at the airport’s VIP lounge on October 22, Sudheendra briefed the ambassador on Karnataka’s potential for producing biofuels, adopting environmentally friendly technologies and expanding the use of sustainable energy sources.

He expressed the state’s interest in collaborating with China on joint research, technology exchange and industrial development. Particular emphasis was placed on increasing ethanol and biodiesel production by utilising agricultural waste and biomass resources.

Xu Feihang appreciated Karnataka’s initiatives in promoting green technology and clean energy, according to the board’s statement. He also responded positively to proposals for technical assistance, knowledge sharing and cooperation on environmentally friendly energy projects.

Anuradha, Deputy Commissioner (Rural), Bengaluru, and other senior officials of the board attended the meeting.

The KSBDB described the engagement as a step towards strengthening Karnataka’s global clean-energy partnerships and promoting a sustainable, low-pollution economy. The meeting follows the board chairman’s recent discussions with organisations from Bulgaria and Japan on cooperation in the green-energy sector.
